Conceptual RF design and modelling of a 704 MHz cavity for the muon cooling complex / Barbagallo, Carmelo (CERN) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN)
The Muon Cooling Complex is a crucial component of the future high-energy Muon Collider, where the ionization cooling technique is employed to reduce muon beam emittance by several orders of magnitude. This cooling technique necessitates the utilization of normal conducting, RF-accelerating cavities operating within a multi-Tesla magnetic field. [...]

A Compact Inverse Compton Scattering Source Based on X-band Technology and Cavity-enhanced High Average Power Ultrafast Lasers / Latina, Andrea (CERN) ; Cormier, Eric (LP2N, Bordeaux) ; Corsini, Roberto (CERN) ; Dyks, Luke (CERN) ; Granados, Eduardo (CERN) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Mușat, Vlad (CERN) ; Santarelli, Giorgio (LP2N, Bordeaux) ; Stapnes, Steinar (CERN) ; Wang, Ping (CERN) et al.
A high-pulse-current photoinjector followed by a short high-gradient X-band linac and a Fabry-Pérot enhancement cavity are considered as a driver for a compact Inverse Compton Scattering (ICS) source. Using a high-power ultra-short pulse laser operating in burst mode in a Fabry-Pérot enhancement cavity, we show that outcoming photons with a total flux over 10$^{13}$ and energies in the MeV range are achievable. A rapid method for prediction of the non-resonant ultra-fast multipactor regime in high gradient RF accelerating structures / González-Iglesias, Daniel (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Gimeno, Benito (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Esperante, Daniel (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Martinez-Reviriego, Pablo (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Martín-Luna, Pablo (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Pedraza, Laura Karina (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Fernández, Juan Carlos (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Fuster-Martínez, Nuria (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Martínez, Eduardo (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Boronat, Marçà (Valencia U., IFIC) et al.
The purpose of this work is to present an analytical method that allows to estimate in an approximate and fast way the presence of the non-resonant and ultra-fast multipactor effect in RF accelerating structures in the presence of high gradient electromagnetic fields. This single-surface multipactor regime, which has been little studied in the scientific literature, is characterised by appearing only under conditions of very strong RF electric fields (of the order of tens or hundreds of MV/m), where it is predominant over other types of single- or dual-surface resonance described in classical multipactor theory. The International Muon Collider Collaboration (IMCC) is studying a 3 TeV center-of-mass muon collider ring, as well as a possible next stage at 10 TeV. Muons being 200 times heavier than electrons, limitations from synchrotron radiation are mostly suppressed, but the muon decay drives the accelerator chain design. [...]
