50 Years of Quantum Chromodynamics / Gross, Franz (Jefferson Lab ; William-Mary Coll.) ; Klempt, Eberhard (Bonn U., HISKP) ; Brodsky, Stanley J. (SLAC) ; Buras, Andrzej J. (TUM-IAS, Munich) ; Burkert, Volker D. (Jefferson Lab) ; Heinrich, Gudrun (KIT, Karlsruhe, TP) ; Jakobs, Karl (Freiburg U.) ; Meyer, Curtis A. This paper presents a comprehensive review of both the theory and experimental successes of Quantum Chromodynamics, starting with its emergence as a well defined theory in 1972-73 and following developments and results up to the present day. Topics include a review of the earliest theoretical and experimental foundations; the fundamental constants of QCD; an introductory discussion of lattice QCD, the only known method for obtaining exact predictions from QCD; methods for approximating QCD, with special focus on effective field theories; QCD under extreme conditions; measurements and predictions of meson and baryon states; a special discussion of the structure of the nucleon; techniques for study of QCD at high energy, including treatment of jets and showers; measurements at colliders; weak decays and quark mixing; and a section on the future, which discusses new experimental facilities or upgrades currently funded. Global Analysis of Leptophilic $Z^\prime$ Bosons / Buras, Andrzej J. (TUM-IAS, Munich) ; Crivellin, Andreas (CERN ; Zurich U. ; PSI, SLS) ; Kirk, Fiona (Zurich U. ; PSI, SLS) ; Manzari, Claudio Andrea (Zurich U. ; PSI, SLS) ; Montull, Marc (Zurich U. ; PSI, SLS)
New neutral heavy gauge bosons ($Z^\prime$) are predicted within many extensions of the Standard Model. While in case they couple to quarks the LHC bounds are very stringent, leptophilic $Z^\prime$ bosons (even with sizable couplings) can be much lighter and therefore lead to interesting quantum effects in precision observables (like $(g-2)_\mu$) and generate flavour violating decays of charged leptons. Quark flavour observables in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity after LHC Run 1 / Blanke, Monika (CERN ; KIT, Karlsruhe, IKP ; KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP) ; Buras, Andrzej J. (Munich, Tech. U. ; TUM-IAS, Munich) ; Recksiegel, Stefan (Munich, Tech. U.)
The Littlest Higgs Model with T-parity (LHT) belongs to the simplest new physics scenarios with new sources of flavour and CP violation. We present a new analysis of quark observables in the LHT model in view of the oncoming flavour precision era. [...]

FCNC Effects in a Minimal Theory of Fermion Masses / Buras, Andrzej J. (Munich, Tech. U. ; TUM-IAS, Munich) ; Grojean, Christophe (CERN ; Saclay, SPhT) ; Pokorski, Stefan (TUM-IAS, Munich ; CERN ; Warsaw U.) ; Ziegler, Robert (Munich, Tech. U. ; TUM-IAS, Munich)
As a minimal theory of fermion masses we extend the SM by heavy vectorlike fermions, with flavor-anarchical Yukawa couplings, that mix with chiral fermions such that small SM Yukawa couplings arise from small mixing angles. This model can be regarded as an effective description of the fermionic sector of a large class of existing flavor models and thus might serve as a useful reference frame for a further understanding of flavor hierarchies in the SM. One of the major challenges of particle physics has been to gain an in-depth understanding of the role of quark flavor and measurements and theoretical interpretations of their results have advanced tremendously: apart from masses and quantum numbers of flavor particles, there now exist detailed measurements of the characteristics of their interactions allowing stringent tests of Standard Model predictions. Among the most interesting phenomena of flavor physics is the violation of the CP symmetry that has been subtle and difficult to explore. [...]

On the consistency between the observed amount of CP violation in the K- and B$_d$-systems within minimal flavor violation / Buras, Andrzej J (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Guadagnoli, Diego (Munich, Tech. U. ; CERN)
We reappraise the question whether the Standard Model, and Minimal Flavor Violating (MFV) models at large, can simultaneously describe the observed CP violation in the K- and Bd-systems. We find that CP violation in the Bd-system, measured most precisely through (sin 2 beta)_{J/psi Ks}, implies |epsilon_K^{SM}| = 1.78(25) x 10^{-3} for the parameter epsilon_K, measuring indirect CP violation in the K-system, to be compared with the experimental value |epsilon_K^{exp}| = 2.23(1) x 10^{-3}.
