Production of High Harmonic X-Ray Radiation from Non-linear Thomson at LLNL PLEIADES / Lim, Jae ; Anderson, Scott ; Betts, Shawn ; Crane, John ; Doyuran, Adnan ; Frigola, Pedro ; Gibson, David J ; Hartemann, Fred V ; Rosenzweig, James E ; Travish, Gil et al.
We describe an experiment for production of high harmonic x-ray radiation from Thomson backscattering of an ultra-short high power density laser by a relativistic electron beam at the PLEIADES facility at LLNL. In this scenario, electrons execute a “figure-8” motion under the influence of the high-intensity laser field, where the constant characterizing the field strength is expected to exceed unity: $aL=e*EL/m*c*ωL ≥ 1$. Laser System for Photoelectron and X-Ray Production in the PLEIADES Compton Light Source / Gibson, David J ; Barty, C ; Betts, S ; Crane, John ; Jovanovic, Igor
The PLEIADES (Picosecond Laser-Electron Interaction for the Dynamic Evaluation of Structures) facility provides tunable short x-ray pulses with energies of 30-140 keV and pulse durations of 0.3 - 5 ps by scattering an intense, ultrashort laser pulse off a 35-75 MeV electron beam. Synchronization of the laser and electron beam is obtained by using a photoinjector gun, and using the same laser system to generate the electrons and the scattering laser. [...]

Measurements of $R_{b}$, $A_{FB}^{b}$ and $A_{FB}^{c}$ in $e^{+}e^{-}$ Collisions at 130-189 GeV / OPAL Collaboration
The cross-section ratio Rb=sigma(e+e- to b-antib)/sigma(e+e- to q-antiq) andthe bottom and charm forward-backward asymmetries AFB^b and AFB^c are measuredusing event samples collected by the OPAL detector at centre-of-mass energiesbetween 130 and 189 GeV. Events with bottom quark production are selected witha secondary vertex tag, and a hemisphere charge algorithm is used to extractAFB^b. [...]

Search for Unstable Heavy and Excited Leptons at LEP2 / OPAL Collaboration
Searches for unstable neutral and charged heavy leptons, N and L+-, and for excited states of neutral and charged leptons, nu*, e*, mu*, and tau*, have been performed in e+e- collisions using data collected by the OPAL detector at LEP. The data analysed correspond to an integrated luminosity of about 58pb-1 at a centre-of-mass energy of 183GeV, and about 10pb-1 each at 161GeV and 172GeV. [...]

Leading Particle Production in Light Flavour Jets / OPAL Collaboration
The energy distribution and type of the particle with the highest momentum in quark jets are determined for each of the five quark flavours making only minimal model assumptions. The analysis is based on a large statistics sample of hadronic Z0 decays collected with the OPAL detector at the LEP e+e- collider. [...]
