Studies for the K12 High-Intensity Kaon Beam at CERN / D'Alessandro, Gian Luigi (CERN ; JAI, UK) ; Banerjee, Dipanwita (CERN) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Boogert, Stewart T (JAI, UK) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Doble, Niels (CERN ; Mainz U.) ; Gatignon, Laurent (CERN ; Lancaster U.) ; Gerbershagen, Alexander (CERN) ; Gibson, Stephen M (JAI, UK) ; Marchevski, Radoslav (CERN ; Mainz U.) et al.
The NA62 experiment is a fixed target experiment located in the North Area of CERN and has as main goal the measurement of the branching ratio of the rare decay K±>pi+vv. The primary proton beam from the SPS accelerator interacts with the T10 beryllium target and the generated 75 GeV/c secondary particles, containing about 6% of positive kaons, are transported by the K12 beamline to the NA62 experiment. Picosecond timing of charged particles using the TORCH detector / Cicala, Maria Flavia (Warwick U.) ; Bhasin, Srishti (Bath U. ; Bristol U.) ; Blake, Thomas (Warwick U.) ; Brook, Nick H. (Bath U.) ; Conneely, Thomas (Unlisted, UK) ; Cussans, David (Bristol U.) ; van Dijk, Maarten W.U. (CERN) ; Forty, Roger (CERN) ; Frei, Christoph (CERN) ; Gabriel, Emmy P.M. (Edinburgh U.) et al.
TORCH is a large-area, high-precision time-of-flight (ToF) detector designed to provide charged-particle identification in the 2-20 GeV$/c$ momentum range. Prompt Cherenkov photons emitted by charged hadrons as they traverse a 10mm quartz radiator are propagated to the periphery of the detector, where they are focused onto an array of micro-channel plate photomultiplier tubes (MCP-PMTs). Testbeam studies of a TORCH prototype detector / Brook, Nicholas (Bristol U.) ; Castillo García, Lucia (CERN) ; Conneely, Thomas M. (Unlisted, UK) ; Cussans, David (Bristol U.) ; van Dijk, Maarten W.U. (Oxford U.) ; Föhl, Klaus (CERN) ; Forty, Roger (CERN) ; Frei, Christoph (CERN) ; Gao, Rui (Oxford U.) ; Gys, Thierry (CERN) et al.
TORCH is a novel time-of-flight detector that has been developed to provide charged-particle identification between 2 and 10 GeV/c momentum. TORCH combines arrival times from multiple Cherenkov photons produced within a 10 mm-thick quartz radiator plate, to achieve a 15 ps time-of-flight resolution per incident particle. [...]
