Azimuthal Correlations within Exclusive Dijets with Large Momentum Transfer in Photon-Lead Collisions / CMS Collaboration
The first measurement of the azimuthal angular correlations of exclusively produced events with two jets in photon-lead interactions at large momentum transfer is presented. Theoretical predictions relate such correlations to the polarization of gluons within nuclei. [...]

Two-particle azimuthal correlations in $\gamma$p interactions using pPb collisions at ${\sqrt {\smash [b]{s_{_{\mathrm {NN}}}}}} = $ 8.16 TeV / CMS Collaboration
The first measurements of the Fourier coefficients (${V_{n\Delta}}$) of the azimuthal distributions of charged hadrons emitted from photon-proton ($\gamma$p) interactions are presented. The data are extracted from 68.8 nb$^{-1}$ of ultra-peripheral proton-lead (pPb) collisions at ${\sqrt {\smash [b]{s_{_{\mathrm {NN}}}}}} = $ 8.16 TeV using the CMS detector. [...]

Irradiation effects on Gd$_{3}$AI$_{3}$Ga$_{3}$O$_{12}$ scintillators prospective for application in harsh irradiation environments / Auffray, E (CERN) ; Dosovitskiy, G (Kurchatov Inst., Moscow) ; Fedorov, A (BSU, Minsk ; Kurchatov Inst., Moscow) ; Guz, I (Kurchatov Inst., Moscow) ; Korjik, M (BSU, Minsk) ; Kratochwill, N (CERN) ; Lucchini, M (Princeton U.) ; Nargelas, S (Vilnius U.) ; Kozlov, D (BSU, Minsk) ; Mechinsky, V (BSU, Minsk ; Kurchatov Inst., Moscow) et al.
We provide evidences that multicomponent garnet-type Ce-doped crystal GAGG (Gd$_{3}$AI$_{3}$Ga$_{3}$O$_{12}$) is a promising scintillator to be applied in harsh irradiation environments, particularly, in high-energy physics experiments and reactor research facilities, where long-term operation is mandatory. Applicability of this scintillator for the upgrade of the detectors at future accelerators with high luminosity like High luminosity LHC is considered and GAGG:Ce with different codopings is compared with Ce-doped oxyorthosilicate crystals, which are currently also strong candidates for such applications. The aim of this work has been to improve the time resolution of radiation detectors for future high-energy physics experiments and medical imaging applications. Cedoped oxyorthosilicate Lu$_2$SiO$_5$:Ce (LSO) and mixed oxyorthosilicate Lu$_{1.6}$Y$_{0.4}$SiO$_5$:Ce (LYSO) have been investigated as prospective scintillators for such high-timeresolution applications.
