Black Holes and Baryon Number Violation: Unveiling the Origins of Early Galaxies and the Low-Mass Gap / Gogberashvili, Merab (Javakhishvili State U. ; Tbilisi, Inst. Phys.) ; Sakharov, Alexander S. (Manhattan Coll., Riverdale ; CERN)
We propose that modifications to the Higgs potential within a narrow atmospheric layer near the event horizon of an astrophysical black hole could significantly enhance the rate of sphaleron transitions, as well as transform the Chern-Simons number into a dynamic variable. [...]

Higgs Induced Triboluminescence in Binary Black Hole Mergers / Chitishvili, Mariam (Javakhishvili State U.) ; Gogberashvili, Merab (Javakhishvili State U. ; Tbilisi, Inst. Phys.) ; Konoplich, Rostislav (Manhattan Coll., Riverdale) ; Sakharov, Alexander S. (Manhattan Coll., Riverdale ; CERN)
We conjecture that the Higgs potential can be significantly modified when it is in close proximity to the horizon of an astrophysical black hole, leading to the destabilization of the electroweak vacuum. In this situation, the black hole should be encompassed by a shell consisting of a "bowling substance" of the nucleating new phase bubbles. [...]

Binary Neutron Star Mergers with Missing Electromagnetic Counterparts as Manifestations of Mirror World / Beradze, Revaz (Javakhishvili State U.) ; Gogberashvili, Merab (Javakhishvili State U. ; Tbilisi, Inst. Phys.) ; Sakharov, Alexander S. (Manhattan Coll., Riverdale ; CERN)
We suggest that the major fraction of binary mergers, which might provide gravitational wave signal detectable by LIGO/Virgo, emerged from the hidden mirror sector. Mirror particles do not interact with an ordinary observer except gravitationally, which is the reason why no electromagnetic signals accompanying gravitational waves from mergers with components composed of mirror matter are expected. Supplying Dark Energy from Scalar Field Dark Matter / Gogberashvili, Merab (Tbilisi, Inst. Phys. ; Tbilisi State U.) ; Sakharov, Alexander S. (New York U. ; Manhattan Coll., Riverdale ; CERN)
We consider the hypothesis that dark matter and dark energy consists of ultra-light self-interacting scalar particles. It is found that the Klein-Gordon equation with only two free parameters (mass and self-coupling) on a Schwarzschild background, at the galactic length-scales has the solution which corresponds to Bose-Einstein condensate, behaving as dark matter, while the constant solution at supra-galactic scales can explain dark energy..

Size of Shell Universe in Light of FERMI GBM Transient Associated with GW150914 / Gogberashvili, Merab (Javakhishvili State U. ; Tbilisi, Inst. Phys.) ; Sakharov, Alexander (CERN ; Manhattan Coll., Riverdale ; New York U.) ; Sarkisyan-Grinbaum, Edward (CERN ; Texas U., Arlington)
We apply the delay in timing of FERMI GMB transient occurred in coincidence with gravitational waves event GW150914 observed by LIGO to constrain the size of the spherical brane-universe expanding in multi-dimensional space-time. A bound on spatial curvature of the brane is obtained..

Probing Brane-World Scenarios with Vacuum Refraction of Light Using Gamma-Ray Bursts / Gogberashvili, Merab (Tbilisi, Inst. Phys.) ; Sakharov, Alexander S. (CERN) ; Sarkisyan, Edward K.G. (CERN ; Manchester U.)
We argue that in fat brane-world scenarios the light propagating in vacuum will, because of massive ``Kaluza-Klein'' (KK) excitations, experience a refraction. The motion of a photon inside a fat brane can be decomposed in the longitudinal and transverse directions with respect to the surface of the brane. [...]
