Time performance of Analog Pixel Test Structures with in-chip operational amplifier implemented in 65 nm CMOS imaging process / Rinella, Gianluca Aglieri (CERN) ; Aglietta, Luca (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Antonelli, Matias (INFN, Trieste) ; Barile, Francesco (INFN, Bari ; Bari U.) ; Benotto, Franco (INFN, Turin) ; Beolè, Stefania Maria (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Botta, Elena (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) ; Bruno, Giuseppe Eugenio (Bari Polytechnic ; INFN, Bari) ; Carnesecchi, Francesca (CERN) ; Colella, Domenico (INFN, Bari ; Bari U.) et al.
In the context of the CERN EP R&D; on monolithic sensors and the ALICE ITS3 upgrade, the Tower Partners Semiconductor Co (TPSCo) 65 nm process has been qualified for use in high energy physics, and adopted for the ALICE ITS3 upgrade. An Analog Pixel Test Structure (APTS) featuring fast per pixel operational-amplifier-based buffering for a small matrix of four by four pixels, with a sensor with a small collection electrode and a very non-uniform electric field, was designed to allow detailed characterization of the pixel performance in this technology. Timing performance of the Timepix4 front-end / Heijhoff, K. (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Akiba, K. (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Ballabriga, R. (CERN) ; van Beuzekom, M. (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Campbell, M. (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Colijn, A.P. (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Fransen, M. (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Geertsema, R. (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Gromov, V. (Nikhef, Amsterdam) ; Cudie, X. Llopart (CERN)
A characterisation of the Timepix4 pixel front-end with a strong focus on timing performance is presented. Externally generated test pulses were used to probe the per-pixel time-to-digital converter (TDC) and measure the time-bin sizes by precisely controlling the test-pulse arrival time in steps of 10 ps. A combination of a pixel chip and a gas chamber (GasPixel detectors) opens new opportunities for particle detectors. GasPixel detectors consist of an electron drift volume, an amplification gap and an anode plane based on a semiconductor chip. [...]

Angular resolution of the gaseous micro-pixel detector Gossip / Bilevych, Y (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Blanco Carballo, V (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; van Dijk, M (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Fransen, M (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; van der Graaf, H (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Hartjes, F (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Hessey, N (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Koppert, W (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Nauta, S (NIKHEF, Amsterdam) ; Rogers, M (Nijmegen U.) et al.
Gossip is a gaseous micro-pixel detector with a very thin drift gap intended for a high rate environment like at the pixel layers of ATLAS at the sLHC. The detector outputs not only the crossing point of a traversing MIP, but also the angle of the track, thus greatly simplifying track reconstruction. [...]

A combination of a pixel chip and a gas chamber opens new opportunities for particle detectors. These ''GasPix'' detectors have vector tracking features offering at the same time a L1 track trigger and a particle identification using transition radiation and dE/dX measurements. [...]
