The CELESTA CubeSat In-Flight Radiation Measurements and Their Comparison With Ground Facilities Predictions / Coronetti, Andrea (CERN) ; Zimmaro, Alessandro (CERN) ; Alía, Rubén García (CERN) ; Danzeca, Salvatore (CERN) ; Masi, Alessandro (CERN) ; Slipukhin, Ivan (CERN) ; Amodio, Alessio (CERN) ; Dijks, Jasper (CERN) ; Peronnard, Paul (CERN) ; Secondo, Raffaello (CERN) et al.
The CELESTA CubeSat has employed radiation monitors developed by the Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire (CERN) Centre, used for measuring the radiation environment at accelerators, to measure the space radiation field in a medium-Earth orbit (MEO). The technology is based on three static random-access memories (SRAMs) that are sensitive to single-event upsets (SEUs) and single-event latchups (SELs). [...]

CELESTA Demonstrator Radiation Characterization in a LEO Representative Environment at CHARM. / Merlenghi, A S (CERN) ; Brugger, M (CERN) ; Chesta, E (CERN) ; Danzeca, S (CERN) ; Garcia Alia, R (CERN) ; Masi, A (CERN) ; Peronnard, P (CERN) ; Secondo, R (CERN) ; Bernard, M (Montpellier U.) ; Dusseau, L (Montpellier U.) et al.
The qualification process of CubeSat systems under radiation is long and requires tests at several facilities. An alternative qualification methodology is being studied at the CHARM facility with the CELESTA radiation module demonstrator..

System Level Radiation Characterization of a 1U CubeSat Based on CERN Radiation Monitoring Technology / Secondo, R (CERN ; IES, Montpellier) ; García Alía, R (CERN) ; Peronnard, P (CERN) ; Brugger, M (CERN) ; Masi, A (CERN) ; Danzeca, S (CERN) ; Merlenghi, A (CERN) ; Chesta, E (CERN) ; Vaillè, J R (IES, Montpellier) ; Bernard, M (Montpellier U.) et al.
A CubeSat payload (PL) was designed at CERN and at the University Space Center of Montpellier, for the measurement of radiation and its effects on electronics and single event latchup recording on SRAM devices. The PL and the data handling modules were tested at the CERN mixed-field facility, in a Low Earth Orbit representative environment

Analysis of SEL on Commercial SRAM Memories and Mixed-Field Characterization of a Latchup Detection Circuit For LEO Space Applications / Secondo, Raffaello (CERN ; IES, Montpellier) ; Alía, Ruben (CERN) ; Peronnard, Paul (CERN) ; Brugger, Markus (CERN) ; Masi, Alessandro (CERN) ; Danzeca, Salvatore (CERN) ; Merlenghi, Anne-Sophie (CERN) ; Vaillé, Jean-Roch (IES, Montpellier ; U. A single event latchup (SEL) experiment based on commercial static random access memory (SRAM) memories has recently been proposed in the framework of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) Latchup Experiment and Student Satellite nanosatellite low Earth orbit (LEO) space mission. SEL characterization of three commercial SRAM memories has been carried out at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) facility, using monoenergetic focused proton beams and different acquisition setups. Optically Stimulated Luminescence Materials for Wide-Spectrum Neutron Measurements at CERN / Ravotti, F ; Glaser, M ; Idri, K ; Vaillé, J R ; Prevost, H ; Dusseau, L /CMS Collaboration
For the first time, Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) materials with enhanced neutron-sensitivity have been irradiated. The neutron irradiations were carried out in the accelerator-like environment of the IRRAD2 facility at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland and in the TRIGA reactor at JSI, Ljubljana, Slovenia. [...]

Conception of an Integrated Sensor for the Radiation Monitoring of the CMS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider / Ravotti, F ; Glaser, M ; Moll, Michael ; Idri, K ; Vaillé, J R ; Prevost, H ; Dusseau, L
The concept of an active integrated dosimetric sensor for the radiation monitoring of the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at the CERN (European Center for Nuclear Research) Large Hadron Collider is presented. The sensor, based on RadFET, OSL, p-i-n diode and Pad detector dosimeters, will measure both ionizing and non-ionizing energy losses in the harsh radiation environment produced by hadron interactions..

High-energy particle irradiation of optically stimulated luminescent films at CERN / Dusseau, L ; Polge, G ; Mathias, S ; Vaillé, J R ; Germanicus, R ; Broadhead, R ; Camanzi, B ; Glaser, M ; Saigne, F ; Fesquet, J et al.
For the first time, optically stimulated luminescent (OSL) dosimeters have been irradiated at CERN with high-energy particles. Two experiments with existing OSL films are presented: measuring the dose delivered by 3.66-GeV negative pions and mapping the intensity profile of a 23-GeV proton beam. [...]
