/ Mikestikova, M (Prague, Inst. Phys.) ; Kroll, J (Prague, Inst. Phys.) ; Abidi, S H (Toronto U.) ; Affolder, A (UC, Santa Cruz, Inst. Part. Phys.) ; Allport, P (Birmingham U.) ; Basso, M J (Toronto U.) ; Bloch, I (DESY, Zeuthen) ; Casha, A (Toronto U.) ; Cindro, V (Stefan Inst., Ljubljana) ; Ciungu, B M (Toronto U.) et al.
The high luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider, foreseen for 2027, requires the replacement of the ATLAS Inner Detector with a new all-silicon Inner Tracker (ITk). The expected total integrated luminosity of 4000 fb − 1 means that the strip part of the ITk detector will be exposed to a large radiation fluence of up to Φeq=1.6×1015 1 MeV neq/cm and an ionizing dose of 0.66 MGy, including a safety factor of 1.5. Charge collection study with the ATLAS ITk prototype silicon strip sensors ATLAS17LS
/ Hara, K (Tsukuba U.) ; Abidi, S H (Toronto U.) ; Affolder, A A (Birmingham U.) ; Allport, P (Birmingham U.) ; Basso, M J (Toronto U.) ; Casha, A (Toronto U.) ; Cindro, V (Stefan Inst., Ljubljana) ; Ciungu, B M (Toronto U.) ; Dette, K (Toronto U.) ; Escobar, C (Valencia U., IFIC) et al.
The inner tracker of the ATLAS detector is scheduled to be replaced by a completely new silicon-based inner tracker (ITk) for the Phase-II of the CERN LHC (HL-LHC). The silicon strip detector covers the volume 40<R<100 cm in the radial and |z|< 300 cm in the longitudinal directions. [...]

The ABC130 barrel module prototyping programme for the ATLAS strip tracker
/ ATLAS Collaboration
For the Phase-II Upgrade of the ATLAS Detector, its Inner Detector, consisting of silicon pixel, silicon strip and transition radiation sub-detectors, will be replaced with an all new 100 % silicon tracker, composed of a pixel tracker at inner radii and a strip tracker at outer radii. The future ATLAS strip tracker will include 11,000 silicon sensor modules in the central region (barrel) and 7,000 modules in the forward region (end-caps), which are foreseen to be constructed over a period of 3.5 years. Detailed studies of full-size ATLAS12 sensors
/ Hommels, L B A (Cambridge U.) ; Allport, P P (Birmingham U.) ; Baca, M (Birmingham U.) ; Broughton, J (Birmingham U.) ; Chisholm, A (Birmingham U.) ; Nikolopoulos, K (Birmingham U.) ; Pyatt, S (Birmingham U.) ; Thomas, J P (Birmingham U.) ; Wilson, J A (Birmingham U.) ; Kierstead, J (Brookhaven) et al.
The “ATLAS ITk Strip Sensor Collaboration” R&D; group has developed a second iteration of single-sided n + -in-p type micro-strip sensors for use in the tracker upgrade of the ATLAS experiment at the High-Luminosity (HL) LHC. The full size sensors measure approximately 97×97mm2 and are designed for tolerance against the 1.1×1015neq/cm2 fluence expected at the HL-LHC. [...]

Charge collection and field profile studies of heavily irradiated strip sensors for the ATLAS inner tracker upgrade
/ Hara, K (Tsukuba U., GSPAS ; KEK, Tsukuba) ; Allport, P P (Birmingham U.) ; Baca, M (Birmingham U.) ; Broughton, J (Birmingham U.) ; Chisholm, A (Birmingham U.) ; Nikolopoulos, K (Birmingham U.) ; Pyatt, S (Birmingham U.) ; Thomas, J P (Birmingham U.) ; Wilson, J A (Birmingham U.) ; Kierstead, J (Brookhaven) et al.
The ATLAS group has evaluated the charge collection in silicon microstrip sensors irradiated up to a fluence of 1×1016 n eq /cm 2 , exceeding the maximum of 1.6×1015 n eq /cm 2 expected for the strip tracker during the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) period including a safety factor of 2. The ATLAS12, n + -on-p type sensor, which is fabricated by Hamamatsu Photonics (HPK) on float zone (FZ) substrates, is the latest barrel sensor prototype. [...]

A proposal to fabricate large area strip sensors with integrated, or embedded, pitch adapters is presented for the End-cap part of the Inner Tracker in the ATLAS experiment. To implement the embedded pitch adapters, a second metal layer is used in the sensor fabrication, for signal routing to the ASICs. [...]
