Study on discharge and short circuit generation in CMS GE1/1 triple-GEM detectors during Run 3 / CMS GEM Group of the Collaboration
The installation of the new GE1/1 station of Gas ElectronMultiplier (GEM) detectors in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS)experiment was completed during the Long Shutdown 2 (LS2) phase ofthe Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The GE1/1 station has beenoperational in the CMS detector since the beginning of the Run-3data-taking phase, and for the first time the GEM technology wasdeployed on a large scale, comprised of 144 chambers and tested inrunning conditions as integral part of the CMS data acquisition, reconstruction, and analysis chain. A measurement of the $ \mathrm{W}\mathrm{Z}\gamma $ triboson production cross section is presented. The analysis is based on a data sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $ \sqrt{s}= $ 13 TeV recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb$ ^{-1} $. Performance of the CMS high-level trigger during LHC Run 2 / CMS Collaboration
The CERN LHC provided proton and heavy ion collisions during its Run 2 operation period from 2015 to 2018. Proton-proton collisions reached a peak instantaneous luminosity of 2.1 $ \times $ 10$^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1} $, twice the initial design value, at $ \sqrt{s}= $ 13 TeV. [...]

Measurement of the background in the CMS muon detector in ${p}{p}$-collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ $\,\text {Te}\hspace{-.08em}\text {V}$ / CMS Muon Collaboration
The CMS detector, including its muon system, has been operating at the CERN LHC in increasingly challenging conditions for about 15 years. The muon detector was designed to provide excellent triggering and track reconstruction for muons produced in proton–proton collisons at an instantaneous luminosity ($\mathcal {L}$) of $1 \times 10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$. The Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM) detectors of the GE1/1 station of the CMS experiment have been operated in the CMS magnetic field for the first time on the 7$^{th}$ of October 2021. During the magnetic field ramps, several discharge phenomena were observed, leading to instability in the GEM High Voltage (HV) power system. [...]

Production and validation of industrially produced large-sized GEM foils for the Phase-2 upgrade of the CMS muon spectrometer / CMS Muon Collaboration
The upgrade of the CMS detector for the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) will include gas electron multiplier (GEM) detectors in the end-cap muon spectrometer. Due to the limited supply of large area GEM detectors, the Korean CMS (KCMS) collaboration had formed a consortium with Mecaro Co., Ltd. [...]

The upgrade of the CMS detector for the high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) will include gas electron multiplier (GEM) detectors in the end-cap muon spectrometer. Due to the limited supply of large area GEM detectors, the Korean CMS (KCMS) collaboration had formed a consortium with Mecaro Co., Ltd. to serve as a supplier of GEM foils with area of approximately 0.6 m$^{2}$. The consortium has developed a double-mask etching technique for production of these large-sized GEM foils. This article describes the production, quality control, and quality assessment (QA/QC) procedures and the mass production status for the GEM foils. [...]

Search for new physics in the $ \tau $ lepton plus missing transverse momentum final state in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search for physics beyond the standard model (SM) in the final state with a hadronically decaying tau lepton and a neutrino is presented. This analysis is based on data recorded by the CMS experiment from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV at the LHC, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 138 fb$ ^{-1} $. Combination of inclusive top-quark pair production cross-section measurements using ATLAS and CMS data at $\sqrt{s}= 7$ and 8 TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
A combination of measurements of the inclusive top-quark pair production cross-section performed by ATLAS and CMS in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV at the LHC is presented. The cross-sections are obtained using top-quark pair decays with an opposite-charge electron-muon pair in the final state and with data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 5 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV and about 20 fb$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV for each experiment. The series of upgrades to the Large Hadron Collider, culminating in the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider, will enable a significant expansion of the physics program of the CMS experiment. However, the accelerator upgrades will also make the experimental conditions more challenging, with implications for detector operations, triggering, and data analysis. [...]
