Deformations of Starobinsky Inflation in No-Scale SU(5) and SO(10) GUTs / Ellis, John (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; García, Marcos A.G. (Mexico U.) ; Nagata, Natsumi (Tokyo U.) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (CERN ; Athens Academy ; Texas A-M) ; Olive, Keith A. (Minnesota U., Theor. Phys. Inst.)
The original Starobinsky $R + R^2$ model of inflation is consistent with Planck and other measurements of the CMB, but recent results from the ACT and SPT Collaborations hint that the tilt of scalar perturbations may be in tension with the prediction of the Starobinsky model. [...]

How Accidental was Inflation? / Antoniadis, Ignatios (Chulalongkorn U. ; Paris, LPTHE) ; Ellis, John (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; Ke, Wenqi (Minnesota U.) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (CERN ; Athens Academy ; Texas A-M) ; Olive, Keith A. (Minnesota U.)
Data on the cosmic microwave background (CMB) are discriminating between different models of inflation, disfavoring simple monomial potentials whilst being consistent with models whose predictions resemble those of the Starobinsky $R + R^2$ cosmological model. However, this model may suffer from theoretical problems, since it requires a large initial field value, threatening the validity of the effective field theory. [...]

The Spectroscopic Stage-5 Experiment / Spec-S5 Collaboration
The existence, properties, and dynamics of the dark sectors of our universe pose fundamental challenges to our current model of physics, and large-scale astronomical surveys may be our only hope to unravel these long-standing mysteries. [...]

R$^{2}$-inflation derived from 4d strings, the role of the dilaton, and turning the Swampland into a mirage / Antoniadis, Ignatios (Chulalongkorn U. ; Paris, LPTHE) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Athens Academy ; Texas A-M ; Athens U. ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN) ; Olive, Keith A. (Minnesota U.)
Based on a previously derived superstring model possessing a cosmological sector that mimics Starobinsky inflation, we analyze several questions addressed in the recent literature: the generation of an effective $R^2$-term, the stability of the sgoldstino , the modular symmetry of the inflaton potential and the large distance swampland conjecture. We first show that the presence of the string dilaton stabilizes the sgoldstino direction in the supersymmetric case and no modification of the Kähler potential is needed. [...]

Correlations between azimuthal anisotropy and mean transverse momentum in pp, pPb, and peripheral PbPb collisions / CMS Collaboration
Correlations between azimuthal anisotropy and mean transverse momentum of charged particles in proton-proton (pp), proton-lead (pPb), and peripheral lead-lead (PbPb) collisions are presented as a function of charged particle multiplicity. [...]

Light Right-handed Smuons at the LHC: Natural Dark Matter and $g_{\mu}-2$ in an Unexplored Realm of the pMSSM / Yin, Xiangwei (Chongqing U.) ; Li, Tianjun (Beijing, Inst. Theor. Phys. ; Beijing, GUCAS ; Henan Normal U.) ; Maxin, James A. (Louisiana State U.) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Texas A-M ; Athens Academy ; Athens U. ; HARC, Woodlands ; CERN)
We introduce an in-depth study of an unprobed pMSSM region offering a natural solution to dark matter. Since the 1980s this region has been referred to as the "bulk", consisting of sub 200 GeV neutralinos and right-handed smuons. [...]

Search for resonant pair production of Higgs bosons in the $ \textrm{b}\overline{\textrm{b}}\textrm{b}\overline{\textrm{b}} $ final state using large-area jets in proton-proton collisions at $ \sqrt{s} $ = 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search is presented for the resonant production of a pair of standard model-like Higgs bosons using data from proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC in 2016-2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb$ ^{-1} $. The final state consists of two b quark-antiquark pairs. [...]

Search for a scalar or pseudoscalar dilepton resonance produced in association with a massive vector boson or top quark-antiquark pair in multilepton events at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
A search for beyond the standard model spin-0 bosons, $ \phi $, that decay into pairs of electrons, muons, or tau leptons is presented. The search targets the associated production of such bosons with a W or Z gauge boson, or a top quark-antiquark pair, and uses events with three or four charged leptons, including hadronically decaying tau leptons. Differential cross section measurements for the production of top quark pairs and of additional jets using dilepton events from pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV / CMS Collaboration
Differential cross sections for top quark pair ($ \mathrm{t} \overline{\mathrm{t}} $) production are measured in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV using a sample of events containing two oppositely charged leptons. The data were recorded with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb$^{-1}$. [...]
