Conceptual design of the HTS split coil test facility for the Muon Collider cooling section / Scarantino, G (U. Rome La Sapienza (main) ; LASA, Segrate) ; Accettura, C (CERN) ; Baggi, B (Milan U.) ; Batia, D (Milan U.) ; Bottura, L (CERN) ; Bordini, B (CERN) ; Castoldi, M (LASA, Segrate) ; Elisei, M (LASA, Segrate ; Milan, Polytech.) ; Giordano, G (LASA, Segrate ; Milan, Polytech.) ; Giove, D (LASA, Segrate) et al.
The cooling section of the Muon Collider requires a number of solenoidal coils of various diameters (0.05-2 m) and fields (2-60 T). An unusual feature of the cooling section is that the RF cavities operates under the large magnetic fields and field gradients generated by the focusing elements. [...]

Dark Matter searches using gravitational wave bar detectors: quark nuggets and newtorites / ROG collaboration
Many experiments have searched for supersymmetric WIMP dark matter, with null results. This may suggest to look for more exotic possibilities, for example compact ultra-dense quark nuggets, widely discussed in literature with several different names. [...]

The two cryogenic resonant bar detectors of the ROG Collaboration, EXPLORER and NAUTILUS, have been taking data continuously with a high duty cycle for several years. We report here on the status of recent analysis of the data and in particular on the results of the burst searches in the year 2004..

The cryogenic resonant gravitational wave detectors NAUTILUS and EXPLORER, made of an aluminum alloy bar, can detect cosmic ray showers. At temperatures above 1 K, when the material is in the normal conducting state, the measured signals are in good agreement with the values expected based on the cosmic rays data and on the thermo-acoustic model. First joint Gravitational Waves search by the AURIGA-EXPLORER-NAUTILUS-Virgo collaboration / AURIGA-EXPLORER-NAUTILUS-Virgo Collaboration
We present results of the search for coincident burst excitations over a 24 hours long data set collected by AURIGA, EXPLORER, NAUTILUS and Virgo detectors during September 2005. The search of candidate triggers was performed independently on each of the data sets from single detectors. [...]

(Rome U., Tor Vergata ; INFN, Rome2) et al.
The data collected during 2005 by the resonant bar Explorer are divided into segments and incoherently summed in order to perform an all-sky search for periodic gravitational wave signals. The parameter space of the search spanned about 40 Hz in frequency, over 23927 positions in the sky. [...]
