Experimental Study of Different Silicon Sensor Options for the Upgrade of the CMS Outer Tracker / Tracker Group of the CMS Collaboration
During the high-luminosity phase of the LHC (HL-LHC), planned to start around 2027, the accelerator is expected to deliver an instantaneous peak luminosity of up to $7.5\times10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$. A total integrated luminosity of $3000$ or even $4000$~fb$^{-1}$ is foreseen to be delivered to the general purpose detectors ATLAS and CMS over a decade, thereby increasing the discovery potential of the LHC experiments significantly. [...]

Precision measurement of the structure of the CMS inner tracking system using nuclear interactions / CMS Collaboration
The structure of the CMS inner tracking system has been studied using nuclear interactions of hadrons striking its material. Data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded in 2015 at the LHC are used to reconstruct millions of secondary vertices from these nuclear interactions. [...]

This paper describes the design, fabrication and experiment results of a 4×8-Gbps Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) array driver ASIC with the adjustable active-shunt peaking technique and the novel balanced output structure under the Silicon-on-Sapphire (SOS) process, and a custom array optical transmitter module, featuring a compact size of 10 mm×15 mm×5.3 mm. Both the array driver ASIC and the module have been fully tested after integration as a complete parallel transmitter. [...]

Characterisation of irradiated thin silicon sensors for the CMS phase II pixel upgrade / Adam, W (Vienna, OAW) ; Bergauer, T (Vienna, OAW) ; Brondolin, E (Vienna, OAW) ; Dragicevic, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Frühwirth, R (Vienna, OAW) ; Hoch, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J (Vienna, OAW) ; König, A (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H (Vienna, OAW) et al. /Tracker Group
The high luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider, foreseen for 2026, necessitates the replacement of the CMS experiment’s silicon tracker. The innermost layer of the new pixel detector will be exposed to severe radiation, corresponding to a 1 MeV neutron equivalent fluence of up to $\Phi _{eq} = 2 \times 10^{16}$  cm$^{-2}$ , and an ionising dose of ${\approx } 5$  MGy after an integrated luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$ . The upgrade of the LHC to the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) is expected to increase the LHC design luminosity by an order of magnitude. This will require silicon tracking detectors with a significantly higher radiation hardness. [...]

Description and performance of track and primary-vertex reconstruction with the CMS tracker / CMS Collaboration
A description is provided of the software algorithms developed for the CMS tracker both for reconstructing charged-particle trajectories in proton-proton interactions and for using the resulting tracks to estimate the positions of the LHC luminous region and individual primary-interaction vertices. Despite the very hostile environment at the LHC, the performance obtained with these algorithms is found to be excellent. [...]
