Leuven, Belgium) ; Versyck, S (Univ. Leuven, Belgium) ; Zákoucký, D (Nuclear Physics Institute, Czech Republic) et al.
The nuclear magnetic moment of the nucleus $^{59}\!$Cu, with one proton and two neutrons outside the closed N = Z = 28 shells, was measured in an on-line experiment combining $\beta$-NMR with low temperature nuclear orientation and with particle detectors operating at a temperature of about 10 K. From the data the center frequency $\nu$(B$_{ext}$ =0) = 209.51 (22) MHz was derived. [...]

Isospin mixing in the T = 5/2 ground state of $^{71}\!$As / ISOLDE Collaboration
The presence of isospin mixing in the T = 5/2 ground state of $^{71}\!$As was studied via anisotropic positron emission from oriented nuclei. A small isospin-forbidden Fermi component in the predominantly Gamow-Teller $\beta$-decay was established, corresponding to an isospin mixing probability of (13 $\pm$ 4) $\!\times\!$10$^{-6}$. [...]

HPGe detectors for low-temperature nuclear orientation / Zakoucky, D ; Srnka, D ; Vénos, D ; Golovko, V V ; Kraev, I S ; Phalet, T ; Schuurmans, P ; Severijns, N ; Vereecke, B ; Versyck, S
Using the low-temperature nuclear orientation (LTNO) technique one can study various interesting properties of atomic nuclei and nuclear decay which can be deduced from the measurements of the angular distributions of charged particles emitted during the decay. However, the use of particle detectors working in conditions of LTNO devices (which are generally not available commercially) is a necessary precondition for the realization of these experiments. The WITCH-experiment will measure the energy spectrum of the recoiling daughter ions in $\beta$-decay to search for non-standard scalar and tensor type interaction. To facilitate this a Penning trap is used to store the radioactive ions. [...]

The weak interaction trap for charged particles (WITCH) setup is being installed at the ISOLDE facility (CERN) to test the Standard Model of the electroweak interaction. This will be done by searching for scalar and tensor admixtures in nuclear $\beta$-decay. [...]
