/ Henry, Louis (LPHE, Lausanne) ; Jashal, Brij (Valencia U., IFIC ; Tata Inst.) ; Kholoimov, Valerii (Valencia U., IFIC ; Taras Shevchenko U.) ; Mendoza, Diego (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Oyanguren, Arantza (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Svintozelskyi, Volodymyr (Valencia U., IFIC ; Taras Shevchenko U.) ; Zhuo, Jiahui (Valencia U., IFIC)
Long-lived particles (LLPs) are very challenging to search for with current detectors and computing requirements due to their very displaced vertices. This study evaluates the ability of the trigger algorithms used in the Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb) experiment to detect long-lived particles and attempts to adapt them to enhance the sensitivity of this experiment to undiscovered long-lived particles. Long-lived particles (LLPs) show up in many extensions of the Standard Model, yet are challenging to search for with current detectors, due to their very displaced vertices. This article evaluates the ability of the trigger algorithms used in the LHCb experiment to detect long-lived particles, and work to adapt them in order to enhance the sensitivity of this experiment to undiscovered long-lived particles. Hybrid seeding: A standalone track reconstruction algorithm for scintillating fibre tracker at LHCb
/ Aiola, Salvatore (Milan U.) ; Amhis, Yasmine (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Billoir, Pierre (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Kishor Jashal, Brij (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Henry, Louis (Valencia U., IFIC ; Milan U.) ; Oyanguren Campos, Arantza (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Marin Benito, Carla (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Polci, Francesco (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Quagliani, Renato (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Schiller, Manuel (Glasgow U.) et al.
We describe the Hybrid seeding, a standalone pattern recognition algorithm aiming at finding charged particle trajectories for the LHCb upgrade. A significant improvement to the charged particle reconstruction efficiency is accomplished by exploiting the knowledge of the LHCb magnetic field and the position of energy deposits in the scintillating fibre tracker detector. Radiative B Decays at LHCb
/ Jashal, Brij Kishor (CSIC, Catalunya ; Valencia U. ; Tata Inst.) ; Oyanguren Campos, Arantza (CSIC, Catalunya ; Valencia U.)
/LHCb Collaboration
Rare radiative B decays are sensitive probes of New Physics through the study of branching fractions, CP asymmetries and other observables related to the photon polarization. The LHCb experiment has performed several measurements with radiative B decays. [...]
