In this study, we propose novel three-layer composite scintillators designed for the simultaneous detection of different ionizing radiation components. These scintillators are based on epitaxial structures of LuAG and YAG garnets, doped with Ce3+ and Sc3+ ions. [...]

The crystals of (Lu,Gd)3(Ga,Al)5O12 multicomponent garnets with high density ρ and effective atomic number Zeff are characterized by high scintillation efficiency and a light yield value up to 50,000 ph/MeV. During recent years, single-crystalline films and composite film/crystal scintillators were developed on the basis of these multicomponent garnets. [...]

Alpha and gamma spectroscopy (pulse height spectra and scintillation decay time profiles) were used to study
scintillating properties of composite scintillators systems consisting of single crystalline films (SCF) and single
crystal (SC) substrate plates. α-particles of $^{241}$Am of energy 5.4857 MeV and γ-quanta of $^{137}$Cs of energy
661.66 keV are used as excitation sources of SCFs or SC substrates, respectively. [...]

Production of light (anti)nuclei in pp collisions at $ \sqrt{s} $ = 13 TeV
/ ALICE Collaboration
Understanding the production mechanism of light (anti)nuclei is one of the key challenges of nuclear physics and has important consequences for astrophysics, since it provides an input for indirect dark- matter searches in space. In this paper, the latest results about the production of light (anti)nuclei in pp collisions at $sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV are presented, focusing on the comparison with the predictions of coalescence and thermal models. Measurement of prompt $\rm{D_{s}^{+}}$-meson production and azimuthal anisotropy in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV
/ ALICE Collaboration
The production yield and angular anisotropy of prompt ${D_s^+}$ mesons were measured as a function of transverse momentum ($p_{ T}$) in Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair $\sqrt{s_{ NN}} = 5.02$ TeV collected with the ALICE detector at the LHC. ${D_s^+}$ mesons and their charge conjugates were reconstructed at midrapidity ($|y|<0.5$) from their hadronic decay channel ${D_s^+ \to \phi \pi^+}$, with ${\phi \to K^-K^+}$, in the $p_{ T}$ intervals $210$ GeV/$c$, the measured ${D_s^+}$-meson nuclear modification factor $R_{ AA}$ is consistent with the one of non-strange D mesons within uncertainties, while at lower $p_{ T}$ a hint for a ${D_s^+}$-meson $R_{ AA}$ larger than that of non-strange D mesons is seen. Angular correlations of heavy-flavour and charged particles in high-energy proton-proton collisions are sensitive to the production mechanisms of heavy quarks and to their fragmentation as well as hadronisation processes. The measurement of the azimuthal-correlation function of prompt D mesons with charged particles in proton--proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV with the ALICE detector is reported, considering D$^{0}$, D$^{+}$, and D$^{*+}$ mesons in the transverse-momentum interval $3 < p_{\rm T} < 36$ GeV/$c$ at midrapidity ($|y| < 0.5$), and charged particles with $p_{\rm T} > 0.3$ GeV/$c$ and pseudorapidity $|\eta| < 0.8$. Inclusive $\text {J}/\psi $ production at midrapidity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV
/ ALICE Collaboration
We report on the inclusive J/ψ production cross section measured at the CERN Large Hadron Collider in proton–proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy s = 13 TeV. The J/ψ mesons are reconstructed in the e+e− decay channel and the measurements are performed at midrapidity (|y| < 0.9) in the transverse-momentum interval 0 < pT < 40 GeV/c, using a minimum-bias data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity Lint = 32.2 nb−1 and an Electromagnetic Calorimeter triggered data sample with Lint = 8.3 pb−1.
