Next-to-leading-order QCD Corrections to Higgs Production in association with a Jet / Bonciani, Roberto (Rome U.) ; Del Duca, Vittorio (INFN, Rome ; Zurich U. ; Frascati) ; Frellesvig, Hjalte (Bohr Inst.) ; Hidding, Martijn (Uppsala U.) ; Hirschi, Valentin (CERN) ; Moriello, Francesco (Unlisted, CH) ; Salvatori, Giulio (Princeton, Inst. Advanced Study) ; Somogyi, Gábor (Wigner RCP, Budapest) ; Tramontano, Francesco (Naples U. ; INFN, Naples)
We compute the next-to-leading-order (NLO) QCD corrections to the Higgs pT distribution in Higgs production in association with a jet via gluon fusion at the LHC, with exact dependence on the mass of the quark circulating in the heavy-quark loops. The NLO corrections are presented including the top-quark mass, and for the first time, the bottom-quark mass as well. [...]

Local Unitarity: cutting raised propagators and localising renormalisation / Capatti, Zeno (ETH, Zurich (main)) ; Hirschi, Valentin (CERN) ; Ruijl, Ben (ETH, Zurich (main))
The Local Unitarity (LU) representation of differential cross-sections locally realises the cancellations of infrared singularities predicted by the Kinoshita-Lee-Nauenberg theorem. In this work we solve the two remaining challenges to enable practical higher-loop computations within the LU formalism. [...]

Higgs production in bottom quark fusion: Matching the 4- and 5-flavour schemes to third order in the strong coupling / Duhr, Claude (CERN) ; Dulat, Falko (SLAC) ; Hirschi, Valentin (ETH, Zurich (main)) ; Mistlberger, Bernhard (SLAC ; MIT, Cambridge, CTP)
We present analytic results for the partonic cross sections for the production of a Higgs boson via the fusion of two bottom quarks at N$^3$LO in QCD perturbation theory in the five-flavour scheme. We combine this perturbative result with NLO accurate predictions in the four-flavour scheme that include the full bottom quark mass dependence by appropriately removing any double-counting stemming from contributions included in both predictions. This note summarizes the state-of-the-art predictions for the cross sections expected for Higgs boson production in the 27 TeV proton-proton collisions of a high-energy LHC, including a full theoretical uncertainty analysis. It also provides projections for the progress that may be expected on the timescale of the high-luminosity LHC and an assessment of the main limiting factors to further reduction of the remaining theoretical uncertainties..

Automated Computation of One-Loop Amplitudes / Degrande, Celine (CERN) ; Hirschi, Valentin (Zurich, ETH) ; Mattelaer, Olivier (Louvain U., CP3)
The automation of one-loop amplitudes plays a key role in addressing several computational challenges for hadron collider phenomenology: They are needed for simulations including next-to-leading-order corrections, which can be large at hadron colliders. They also allow the exact computation of loop-induced processes. [...]

Constraining anomalous gluon self-interactions at the LHC: a reappraisal / Hirschi, Valentin (Zurich, ETH) ; Maltoni, Fabio (Louvain U., CP3) ; Tsinikos, Ioannis (Louvain U., CP3 ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Vryonidou, Eleni (CERN)
Anomalous self-interactions of non-abelian gauge fields can be described by higher dimensional operators featuring gauge-invariant combinations of the field strengths. In the case of QCD, the gluon self-interactions start to be modified at dimension six by operators of the type $GGG$, with $G$ the gluon field strength tensor, possibly leading to deviations in all observables and measurements that probe strong interactions at very small distances. The complete NLO corrections to dijet hadroproduction / Frederix, Rikkert (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Frixione, Stefano (INFN, Genoa) ; Hirschi, Valentin (SLAC) ; Pagani, Davide (Munich, Tech. U. ; Louvain U., CP3) ; Shao, Hua-Sheng (CERN) ; Zaro, Marco (UPMC, Paris (main) ; Paris, LPTHE)
We study the production of jets in hadronic collisions, by computing all contributions proportional to $\alpha_S^n\alpha^m$, with $n+m=2$ and $n+m=3$. These correspond to leading and next-to-leading order results, respectively, for single-inclusive and dijet observables in a perturbative expansion that includes both QCD and electroweak effects. NLO predictions for the production of a spin-two particle at the LHC / Das, Goutam (Saha Inst.) ; Degrande, Celine (Durham U., IPPP) ; Hirschi, Valentin (SLAC) ; Maltoni, Fabio (Louvain U., CP3) ; Shao, Hua-Sheng (CERN)
We obtain predictions accurate at the next-to-leading order in QCD for the production of a generic spin-two particle in the most relevant channels at the LHC: production in association with coloured particles (inclusive, one jet, two jets and $t\bar t$), with vector bosons ($Z,W^\pm,\gamma$) and with the Higgs boson. We present total and differential cross sections as well as branching ratios as a function of the mass and the collision energy also considering the case of non-universal couplings to standard model particles.
