Model Independent Approach of the JUNO 8B Solar Neutrino Program
/ JUNO Collaboration
The physics potential of detecting 8B solar neutrinos is exploited at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), in a model independent manner by using three distinct channels of the charged-current (CC), neutral-current (NC) and elastic scattering (ES) interactions. [...]

One of the next challenges in fundamental physics is to understand the origin of matter/antimatter asymmetry in the Universe. In particular, intense neutrinos could play an important role to elucidate this mystery and better understand the expansion of the Universe. [...]

The ESSνSB project
/ Cederkall, Joakim (Lund U.) ; Christiansen, Peter (Lund U.) ; Park, Joochun (Lund U.) ; Carlile, Colin (Uppsala U. (main)) ; Ekelöf, Tord (Uppsala U. (main)) ; Olvegård, Maja (Uppsala U. The ESSνSB project aims to produce a neutrino beam of unique intensity for a long-baseline oscillation measurement of CP-violation in the leptonic sector. The project, supported within the H2020 framework programme of the European Union, is currently in a conceptual design study phase, and work is ongoing within the project to develop viable solutions for the upgrade of the linear accelerator of the European Spallation Source (ESS), for the associated ring accumulator and the high-power target stations, as well as to establish solutions for the near and far detectors. The 2.0 GeV, 5 MW proton linac for the European Spallation Source, ESS, will have the capacity to accelerate additional pulses and send them to a neutrino target, providing an excellent opportunity to produce an unprecedented high performance neutrino beam. The ESS neutrino Super Beam intends to measure, with precision, the charge-parity (CP) violating lepton phase at the 2nd oscillation maximum. [...]

The European Spallation Source (ESS) is a research centre based on the world’s most powerful neutron source currently under construction in Lund, Sweden, using 2.0 GeV, 2.86 ms long proton pulses at 14 Hz for the spallation facility (5MW on target). The possibility to pulse the linac at higher frequency to deliver, in parallel with the spallation neutron production, a very intense, cost effective, high performance neutrino beam. [...]
