Abstract From the measurement of Be/sup +/e/sup -/= Gamma (pp to e/sup +/e/sup -/)/ Gamma (pp to total)=(3.2+or-0.9)*10/sup -7/, obtained in an experiment at CERN with antiprotons at rest, a value of the proton electromagnetic form factors at the threshold of the time-like region is derived: mod G/sub E/ mod = mod G/sub M/ mod =0.51+or-0.08 at q/sup 2/=-3.52 (GeV/c)/sup 2/.
