Abstract | An X-ray Tomograph has been constructed to measure the mechanical accuracy of the ATLAS Muon chambers. Here we report on the choice of the measurement scheme, the global calibration procedure and practical aspects of the calibration. We reached for the measurement accuracy a value of 2 /mum systematic and 2 /mum statistical uncertainties in the horizontal and vertical directions. The measurement area is up to 220 cm (horizontal) by 60 cm (vertical). |
