Abstract | The requirements on front-end electronics for the readout of photon detectors are discussed. Sources of noise in the front-end are discussed. Technology choices for given applications are considered. Implementations of analogue front-end chips are described. Applications for photon detectors to be use in Nuclear Medicine Imaging are presented. Results from prototype assemblies of front-end chips with silicon pad sensors used in a Compton camera and in a Hybrid Photon Detector are presented. |
