Abstract
| The beam dynamics code Maptrack, is used to convert MADX-PTC lattices into static transform maps. This report discusses how maptrack has been adapted to suit large, flexible slow extraction simulations. In particular, to decrease simulation time and improve memory handling for to track 6D coordinates of many particles over millions of turns; comparable to real-life extraction time. These improvements are demonstrated on the PIMMS lattice for two excitation techniques, betatron core and RF-KO. These results are benchmarked to previous PIMMS simulations, and improved to provide second-long extraction spills. Results are further analysed by studying fundamental frequencies to provide dynamic models of tune development. |
