---|---|
The arrival of the first US-made magnets was celebrated at CERN. The American collaboration (AUP) completed the cold tests of the first final cryostat assembly, which was shipped to CERN by boat in early November and arrived in December. This magnet will be installed in the High-Luminosity Inner Triplet String (HL-LHC IT String) in the first half of 2024. A ceremony to celebrate this milestone took place on-site and was attended by Giorgio Apollinari, the US-AUP Project Manager and Mike Lamont, CERN’s Director for Accelerators and Technology, as well as the TE Department, DG office, and HL-LHC representatives.
