| Abstract | The journey in search for the Higgs boson with the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC started more than two decades ago. The discovery of a heavy scalar boson was announced on 4th July 2012, and subsequent data point strongly to the properties as expected for the boson associated with the Brout–Englert–Higgs mechanism. |
