Abstract A fission detection setup based on Parallel Plate Avalanche Counters (PPAC) has been constructed and used at the CERN n_TOF facility. The setup takes advantage of the coincidence detection of both fission fragments to discriminate the background reactions produced by high energy neutrons and it allows obtaining neutron-induced fission cross section up to 1 GeV.
