Abstract Electromagnetic (EM) characterization of materials up to high frequencies is a major requirement for the correct modelling of many accelerator components: collimators, kickers, high order modes damping devices for accelerating cavities. Different methods and techniques have been used in the past and a unique setup for all kind of materials and frequencies range does not exist. In this note the details of our measurements setup and the different applied methods are described. This work will focus on the coaxial line setup that can be used in a wide range of frequencies. Reflection and transmission methods will be analyzed and discussed. Measurements of silicon carbide (SiC) CerasicB1, EkasicF and EkasicP will be presented
