Abstract The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is efficiently collecting data at luminosities above $3 \times 10^{33} \mathrm{cm}^{-2} \mathrm{s}^{-1}$. Recent running has seen increases in the average number of interactions per bunch crossing, testing the capabilities of the tracking and trigger systems. CMS physics results on approximately $1 \mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of data collected at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV are presented, including results of searches for the Higgs boson.
