Business acumen is knowing how business works and applying that knowledge with the goal of business improvement. This approach is the crux of APPP 504, a three-week intensive course teaching our #MEL and #MHLP students, all technically skilled in their respective disciplines, how to come together across specializations to solve real-world business issues. Today, we heard from Dr. Wayne Rawcliffe, MBA, EdD, CPHR, SHRM, L.I.O.N. and Scott Sinclair, both UBC UBC Sauder School of Business professors, on the fundamentals of management and leadership. What lessons did you take away from today's discussion? Best of luck for the remainder of this intense but transformative course! #UBCMEL #UBCMHLP #BusinessSummerCamp #APSC #leadership #business #sauder #engineers #UBC #vancouver

A strong healthcare system isn't just about ensuring access to medical care; it's about prevention and knowledge-building as well.
BC Children's Hospital is seeing children attend the emergency department for warm-weather related injuries. Along with BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) and Trauma Services BC, we are encouraging parents and families to keep children safe near windows and balconies, as well as bodies of water. “The injuries we see from window falls and water-related incidents are often devastating for everyone involved,” said Dr. Meghan Gilley, emergency department doctor with BC Children's. Keep your children safe this summer by following the guidance in this post and read more about summer safety here: https://lnkd.in/gw7qb7Kf #summersafety
