Dear Students, The recent updates and rules from IRCC are designed to protect and support international students. 1) Cap on Study Permits: The cap on study permits is meant to protect students from potential challenges and issues. 2) Changes to PGWP: While some programs no longer offer PGWP, this change doesn’t apply to all programs or institutions. If you're studying at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), you can still get up to 3 years of stay back. The reason for removing PGWP for certain courses is that some students were using these courses as a loophole to enter Canada due to lower entry requirements and tuition fees. To prevent misuse, IRCC has made these changes.
