It’s Nurse Practitioner Week, and we’re celebrating and recognizing the key role NPs play in providing health care across our communities. 💌 Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice nurses that provide comprehensive, patient-centred care. In addition to treating illnesses, NPs teach people and families about healthy living, preventing disease and managing illness. NPs bring together medical knowledge with the values and skills of nursing. To all Nurse Practitioners across Vancouver Coastal Health, thank you for the expertise, compassion and dedication you bring to your practice every day. NPs are a vital part of our health-care community, and their impact is felt across every team and with every patient they support.

Ball is life, but sometimes ball is team building too. 🏀 Recently, Purdy Pavilion and UBC Hospital staff threw down in the first Purdy Basketball Tournament since the COVID-19 pandemic. This collaborative team-building tournament had taken place for years before going on hiatus and was brought back by a Purdy Pavilion nurse with support from current management. Staff and teams had a great time getting active and building relationships in their off hours (while also working on their step-back jumpers). Congratulations to everyone who participated in the tournament!
