Today, September 30, 2024, we observed the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a solemn reminder of the profound injustices experienced by Indigenous peoples. We honored the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, and their families. We invite you to engage in a day of listening, learning, and reflection at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, the heart of Whistler’s authentic Indigenous experience on the shared territory of the Skwxwú7mesh and Líl̓wat7úl. Experience a full day of programming throughout the Great Hall, Theatre, Galleries, and out on the Mezzanine patio. Our deepest gratitude to everyone who has reached out with words of solidarity and support for Jasper and our resort in light of the recent wildfires that have devastated the area. After 100 years of welcoming travelers to this breathtaking corner of Canada, we are grateful that many of the resort’s most historically significant structures have been spared from the active wildfire, including landmarks such as the Main Lodge, Point Cabin, Outlook Cabin and Golf Clubhouse. A comprehensive evaluation is still underway to understand the full impact on the resort and the community. During this difficult period, our hearts continue to go out to our friends and neighbors.
