    You NEED to be able to stop people’s passive scroll on social media [ad].     [ad] POV: It’s nearly the end of 2024, you’ve not ticked off all your goals, and now the flood of 2025 social media predictions are about to begin Hopefully it’s not just me with this feeling 🤣 At the start of each year, I choose a ‘word’ as an intention or a goal I can work towards all year round. For 2024, my word was ‘present’... and I think I’ve been anything but to be honest 🥲 As a social media manager, I’m constantly looking ahead, planning for the next trend or the next platform shift. I’ve started to appreciate that this forward focus isn’t a distraction from being present but it’s actually a really useful ability that should be celebrated. As we near the end of this year, I’ve been thinking about my ‘word’ for 2025. I’ve decided it’s going to be ‘focus’. I want to have a clear focus on the things that I enjoy and put all my attention into things that will help me personally and professionally. Something that has helped me look ahead AND build my focus for 2025 has been Hootsuite’s Social Media Trends 2025 report. Part of the report that stood out to me was around creative disruption and how innovative brands are going to be the ones that push BEYOND brand guidelines.
