While the shelter is well known for providing immediate safety and crisis intervention for women, one of its most impactful and forward-thinking programs is its Child & Youth Program. This initiative focuses on empowering young people through education, healing, and growth, helping them break the cycle of violence. The Child & Youth Program provides young survivors with essential resources such as safe spaces, counselling, and academic support, all designed to rebuild confidence and offer a path to a brighter future. We want to thank the Orillia Museum of Art & History (OMAH) for their generous donation of 10 “Explore, Inspire, Celebrate” art-making kits. 🎨 These kits, thoughtfully designed for children and youth from families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, provide not only art materials but also a powerful outlet for creativity and self-expression. Each kit includes all the materials needed to create a unique piece of art, as well as online and written lessons, museum passes, and grocery store gift cards.
