Destruction of PFAS Compounds in Contaminated Media Challenge 🔥 The National Research Council (NRC), Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Health Canada (HC) and Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) are actively seeking innovative, cost-effective, safe, and scalable solutions that lead to the destruction of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds across various contaminated solid or aqueous media such as water, soil, biosolids as well as spent filtration media such as granular activated carbon and resins. 📌 Closing date: November 20, 2024, 14:00 Eastern Time. 📌  Funding Applicants could get up to $1.7M to fund the research and development of your solution. OAFRI Commercialization Stream The Ontario Agri-Food Research Initiative (OAFRI) Commercialization Stream targets innovative Ontario-based agri-food and agri-tech organizations who are ready to transform their ideas into market-ready products and services. 📌 Eligible Projects ▪ Project Type A: Market Validation Grants Conduct market research to determine the size and quality of the market opportunity for a new and promising technology, product, or service with the goal of determining if there is any market potential before more research funds are spent on the technology. Funding Available: up to $30,000 per project ▪ Project Type B: Product Development Grants Create prototypes, perform field trials, remove any barriers to a market launch or private sector adoption and optimize a minimum viable product that best meets the needs of customers. Funding Available: $50,000-$150,000 per project 📌 Eligibility Eligible organizations must: ▪ be located in Ontario ▪ have project activities and costs that take place in Ontario ▪ develop projects that address OMAFA’s key research priority areas and initiative objectives ▪ be operating in the agriculture, agri-food, and agri-based products sector ▪ have a product/technology/service that is unique to Ontario. 📌 Amount Up to $30,000 per project for Market Validation Grants and up to $150,000 per project for Product Development Grants. Funding for Ontario Businesses Adopting Critical Technologies We would like to inform you that the Critical Industrial Technologies Initiative has opened an intake for Ontario Manufacturing, Mining, Agri-Food and Construction firms adopting critical technologies, which close on October 4, 2024. The Critical Industrial Technologies Initiative is looking to support partnerships of progressive companies seeking to develop and implement transformative solutions that utilize and/or adopt Critical Technologies to enhance productivity in Ontario’s manufacturing sector. 📌 Critical Technologies: ▪ 5G & Advanced Networks ▪ Artificial Intelligence ▪ Blockchain ▪ Robotics ▪ Cybersecurity ▪ Quantum 📌 Funding Recipients will receive up to $500 K in funding which must be matched 2:1 by the Applicant Company and Industry Partners by cash or cash equivalent. 📌 Eligibility Requirements ▪ come from a consortia of partners who will work collaboratively to develop and demonstrate a solution that will have widespread adoption and impact on the Ontario manufacturing sector. ▪ be an Ontario-based small-to-medium-sized enterprise. ▪ at least one of the project partners MUST be an end user/customer of the resultant product/service. ▪ involve the integration, development, adoption and/or acceleration of at least one of the critical technologies listed above. ▪ proposed projects can be enhancements to existing products/services or new products/services. ▪ at least one Primary Partner should exhibit market ‘pull’ to help validate the readiness of the sector to adopt the demonstrated solution. ▪ project activities need to be carried out in Ontario. ▪  the Project partner consortia will be required to present to an external review panel as part of the full application process.
