Earning trust, strengthening relationships and having a literal seat at the table is why ABC Technologies is Molding The Future of Canadian business and its role in the global automotive industry. ABC CEO Terry Campbell (group image, white shirt) once again joined Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and members of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association (APMA) for discussions on international trade, engagement and involvement so that invested stakeholders can see action and achievable success from companies leading the way. This past July, ABC was honored to host the DPM and her team at our Toronto office and manufacturing facility where she took time to personally meet our employees on the shop floor, learn more about them and listen to their questions. We are appreciative that she chose to include one such interaction in her post below.

ABC was invited to participate in the 34th Annual Toyota Opportunity Exchange, a forum for business owners to get in front of 150 of Toyota’s top supplier partners. In addition to educational seminars and networking, attendees had the chance to speak with Praveen Sharma, ABC Director, Indirect Purchasing (left) and Walter Polleiner, ABC Sr. Sales Manager, Asia Customer Business Unit, to learn more about strengthening business relationships and supplier development. ABC provides parts to most of Toyota’s vehicles produced in North America including the Camry, Corolla, Grand Highlander, four Lexus models, Sienna, RAV4 and Tacoma.

Teammates at our manufacturing facilities in Mexico created a world of pink in a series of events to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and promoted the importance of annual mammograms in October.     Among the collaborations were painting activities, arts and crafts projects, and educational and healthy living displays, while others chose to wear a pink shirt to endorse their support to overcome heartache and wish for hope. Together, they were Pinking Out the Plant and Molding The Future of Wellness.

Ms. Sanda Ojiambo (center), UN Assistant Secretary-General and CEO of the United Nations Global Compact connected with ABC teammates Marcela Klis, Environmental Specialist and Tom Hajkus, Global Communications Manager at a recent Canada Corporate Compass conference in Toronto. The activity featured an array of expert panelists and keynote speakers from the private sector, government and civil society who delved into the opportunities and risks of Just Transition, climate adaptation strategies, ethical supply chain practices, and the responsibility and challenges of Canadian-based businesses to respond to these emerging issues.
