I may be able to take your review, but first: Have you taken a look at the %pyproject macros found in the Python Packaging Guidelines (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/Python/)? In most cases, it makes the packaging of python libraries essentially foolproof, and it seriously simplifies the packager's work. While I can't sponsor, I can probably help in that regard too.
