🔎 𝗔 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹 - 𝗨𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀   🚢 What is actually going on in our factory? One of our machine projects is a H-28, which was designed for propulsion components in the navy. The machine can balance rotors with a maximum weight of up to 32 tons. Due to the Hofmann measuring principle, very low balancing grades are possible. This is particularly crucial for propulsion components in the navy.   This machine is designed to balance rotors with a standard diameter of up to 3 meters and expandable up to 4 meters. The entire machine has a length of 5 meters, divided into main and secondary beds, with a pit in between to fit particularly large rotors. This makes it one of the larger machines at Hofmann.   🔧 The machine has a 250 kW end drive, which runs the rotor via a cardan shaft. A belt drive with standard dimensions is used for smaller rotors. The bearing pedestals are divided into a lower and upper section, with the upper section accommodating the rotor and the lower section housing the measuring electronics. The upper sections can be replaced, which generally offers a high degree of flexibility with our machines. In order to approximate the real conditions in the drive train as precisely as possible, the rotors are balanced with plain bearings in an oil film instead of on rollers. This ensures particularly realistic test operation.   💡 The machine is a standard product, but offers numerous customization options to meet the specific requirements of different applications. 💡 𝗡𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 As an application partner in the #ImPaKT research project under the consortium leadership of Universität Paderborn, we are pleased to present the successful collaboration within the three-year project. The project aims to develop an automated, model-based impact analysis that serves as a basis for decisions on technical changes, which was supported by Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (#BMBF) with EUR 4.1 million. 🛠 Through the use of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system models were developed with partners from various industries, which serve as central data and knowledge sources for the analysis platform. For us as a partner, this meant developing and applying a model for a 1-station balancing machine that is specifically designed for the automotive sector. Numerous parameters, such as rotor size, weight and speed, can vary depending on customer requirements. The main contribution was that the AI-supported system model made it possible to estimate the effects of technical changes on factors such as costs, delivery times and the need to develop new components. For us as a company, this solution offers enormous added value: the automated processing of engineering changes is a decisive factor in the development of customized Hofmann machine concepts, due to the major impact these changes have in all industries. Thanks to the objective recommendations for action, well-founded decisions can be made in project management and the efficiency of our processes can be significantly increased. 🎯 The project should not only improve collaboration between all departments, but can also lay the foundation for a sustainable increase in collaboration and efficiency along the entire value chain. ☀ Summer party with the Hofmann family 🎉 About a week ago we celebrated our Hofmann summer party, which we organize every year for our employees and their families. With around 150 participants, we spent a wonderful evening and took the opportunity to be grateful for the commitment of each individual to Hofmann. Once again, several colleagues were honored for their many years of employment, including the longest period of the evening with 25 years of service. ⚽ We also took the opportunity to celebrate the german soccer fever. Our colleagues formed internal teams and organized a small match. Afterwards, of course, the round of 16 match between Germany and Spain was played, for which Hofmann organized our own public viewing at the venue. 🎇 After joint dinner, chatting and lots of games for the youngest participants, we rounded off the evening with an ice cream truck. 💼 Sales meeting with a view - working and connecting in austria 🏔 Two weeks ago, three teams from our sales department in Germany and the management took the opportunity to spend four days together in Kleinwalsertal in Austria. The meeting / team event is not only there to work on cohesion within and between the departments over several days, but also to discuss current topics and plan strategically. Our quarterly sales meeting has been held once a year for many years in conjunction with a hiking trip like this one. 🔗 This year, the focus was on global and strategic cooperation with our partners and subsidiaries. The last meeting at the American Hofmann Cooperation site in particular had a positive impact on the motivation of our colleagues. We built on this by presenting important figures, data and facts about current projects and continuing to work on the strategic integration of all companies in the Hofmann Global network. Above all, the mindset of each employee played a major role in thinking in partnerships and synergies. 💡 This shared mindset requires a good sense of togetherness, which we were able to further strengthen with joint excursions.
