A downloadable game for Windows

It's close to the end of the year 2000 when you wake up clueless in the middle of a dark forest with nothing on you but a torch. You struggle to retrace your steps and seek help until the forest mystery piques your interest.

You wander around the creepy forest with your guiding torch hoping to fulfill your curiosity about the quietness of such a populated forest.

Will YOU connect the pieces?

Story Behind This Game:

I am an independent amateur programmer and this is the first game I've developed. Not only was this an experience I wanted to share with others but also a learning experience and an opportunity for me to move into game development as a hobby. As I am still learning, please know that this game is far from perfect and will only improve as I spend more time learning. Expect a lot more when the full game releases in the future.

Known Issues:

Tabbing out of the game during fade transitions can cause it to crash. I haven't gotten a fix to this yet so please avoid alt-tabbing out of the game while loading between rooms. This game has an autosave feature so do not worry too much if it does crash as it will reload to the last major point of the game.

If you find any issues, please let me know.

I Loved this game! The story is pretty interesting and I like what you did with the torch mechanics. I can't wait to see what you bring in the full game.

I created an account just to say this as well, so you know I enjoyed this!

Hey, thanks a lot I appreciate your feedback and time to reply! It helps!

If you don't mind me asking, what do you plan for your full game to have?

(+1)

No worries, All good! I plan to feature a lot of challenging and puzzling parts of the game that will rely on the mechanics of the torch. The majority of the game will be set in caves and some other outside areas too.

The game will be mostly an interactive walking-simulator that will slowly reveal more context and clues to the player as they progress.

This game will mainly rely on narrative along with the unique mechanics featured to help add to the story. More context of such will be revealed once I develop the full game.

Sounds awesome! I can't wait to play the full game!

I enjoyed the game's style and look forward to discovering the torch's purpose. Additionally, I found the basement to be an enjoyable maze to navigate!

Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing future updates.

Nice visuals! The level-design is well made, and I really liked the narrative. There's some things that you need to improve though:

- There's no soundtrack, and the audio design is too simple. I personally didn't liked the textbox sound effect too.

- The light circle is TOO small. It bothered me a lot on the basement part.

This could turn into a great game, keep it up!

By the way, I would love if you could play my 2d survival-horror game and give me some feedback too! It's called "Touch of Madness". 🥸🖤
