How to enable the console in CS2?

The console has been very important for Counter-Strike players throughout the history of the shooter. It's more familiar and convenient to set up the game with it. Counter-Strike 2 also has it, and in this article, Bo3.gg will tell you about the ways to enable the console in the updated version of the shooter.

First way to enable the console in CS2

In the main menu of CS2, click on “Settings” in the upper left corner, then in the “Game” tab, select “Yes” next to the line “Enable developer console”.

You can also enable the console through the launch parameters. Go to the Steam client, go to the “Library” and right-click on CS:GO, then choose “Properties”. In the “General” tab, find the line “Launch parameters” and enter there: -console or -dev. If you're entering additional commands, separate them with a space.

How to open the console in CS2?

By default, the console will open when pressing the “~” key, which is located above “Tab”. To assign a different button, go to the game settings, go to the “Keyboard and Mouse” tab and scroll to the “Open/close console” parameter.

In CS2 there's a peculiar feature: if you assigned the opening of the console to a letter or symbol from the English layout, then in the game it will open only if the English layout is turned on (the same goes for other languages). So, if the console doesn't open, simply change the language.
