Quarterback Russell Wilson says he is "back in the ring" ahead of his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wilson shared a video of him working on his boxing on X with the hashtag "#QuickFeetHeavyHands."

"Started in 2018 through 2020. Had some of my best years," Wilson wrote on X. "Then COVID hit in 2020 and couldn't go back in."

Wilson then shouted out veteran boxing trainers Freddy Roach and Marvin Somodio.

Wilson also shared a photo with Dominican boxer Elvis Rodriguez on his Instagram story.

It was a busy workout day for Wilson, who also shared a video of himself sprinting down the UCLA football field:

Wilson first worked out with Roach, best known for coaching Manny Pacquiao for more than a decade, in 2017, Sheil Kapadia reported for ESPN.

The then-Seattle Seahawk quarterback told Kapadia then that boxing helped with "working on my balance and quickness and just continuing to build my game."

"The idea of being able to do anything and everything at any moment, and so you have to be prepared for that," Wilson said in 2017, per Kapadia. "Also, great boxers have great defense too, meaning being able to move and get away and all that.

"So that was something that was really important to me too. And it's a great conditioning workout, one of the hardest workouts you could ever do."

Wilson then told GQ's Emily Abbate in 2018 that he used boxing as a regular workout.

COVID-19 might have prevented Wilson from continuing that routine. Now it looks like he's back in the ring just in time to prepare for a comeback season following his release from the Denver Broncos.
