Description
The NIH Common Fund (https://commonfund.nih.gov/) is hosting an informational webinar for a second new funding opportunity for the Complement Animal Research In Experimentation (Complement-ARIE) Program.
The goal of the Complement-ARIE Program (https://commonfund.nih.gov/complementarie) is to accelerate the development, standardization, validation, and use of human-based New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) that will transform the way we do basic, translational, and clinical sciences. NAMs are laboratory (in vitro and in chemico) or computer-based (in silico) research approaches intended to more accurately model human biology, and complement, or in some cases, replace traditional research models.
Complement-ARIE Program goals include:
• To better model and understand human health and disease outcomes across diverse populations.
• To develop NAMs that provide insight into specific biological processes or disease states.
• To validate mature NAMs to support regulatory use and standardization.
• To Complement traditional models and make biomedical research more efficient and effective.
The Complement-ARIE Program issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to support the Complement-ARIE New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) Data Hub and Coordinating Center. View the NOFO here: https://go.nih.gov/3MBEmGy
The NAMs Data Hub and Coordinating Center will coordinate Complement-ARIE Program activities and be the centralized Data Hub for all program activities by creating and managing an integrated data structure supporting the development, validation, and qualification of NAMs incorporating FAIR data principles.
The informational webinar will feature presentations from NIH staff describing the Complement-ARIE program, application requirements for the NAMs Data Hub and Coordinating Center funding opportunity, and a Q&A session during which NIH staff will answer questions from the audience.
Please join us to hear about this unique funding opportunity.
