30 seconds for the economy

With the recent European elections behind us, we are preparing for the formation of the new Commission. Over the next five years, we as chambers of commerce aim to play a crucial role in promoting growth and competitiveness in business.

The European elections are a good month behind us, the top positions have been taken, it is now waiting for the new Commission. The stakes are high for business over the next five years and, as chambers, we want to be at the centre of the crucial debate on growth and competitiveness. We are determined to work with policymakers to remove the obstacles businesses face and to create the conditions under which they can develop.

This was immediately evident on 9-10 July, when dozens of new and returning MEPs filmed their Eurochambres ‘30 seconds for the economy’ statements a few metres away from the Hemicycle in Brussels. In a short video message, at the beginning of their mandate, they gave their views on the most important issues for the economy and entrepreneurs in Europe.
