As part of our #ouryear24 campaign, we wanted to discover what drives our young professionals. We spoke with Prewan Baladien, the  #CustomerCare Coordinator of #AutoScout24Netherlands, who is about to turn 24. He oversees daily in- and outbound tasks, striving for a positive customer experience and a satisfied team with a balanced workload. His journey showcases how we support our teams in learning new skills, sharing ideas, and collaborating effectively–reflecting our commitment to continuous growth and shaping the future together. ❓At almost 24, you’ve taken on a key role at AutoScout24. What inspired your career in quality management? 💬I used to browse AutoScout24 for fun, just like many young people interested in cars. When a job opportunity came up, I was immediately motivated to apply, and I got the job. I started in quality management and quickly leveraged my professional skills and experience as a user. I’m proud that, over the past 3.5 years, we’ve made significant quality improvements through our efforts in Quality Management in the Netherlands.   ❓What do you think is the biggest advantage of being a young professional in a fast-paced industry like automotive digital platforms? 💬The knowledge I’ve gained as a young professional, which I will continue to enrich over the years, is invaluable. As a young professional, the ability to adapt quickly is key to my development. Using new platforms such as social media keeps me up to date with the knowledge about current trends and topics required for the job, which in turn helps me support clients and colleagues. Being a coordinator at a young age also allows me to introduce new methods to the team and the organization.   ❓What excites you most about your role? 💬The opportunity to inspire and guide others to improve, helping the team reach new heights while remaining focused on serving our customers. Knowing that I can contribute to the organization's growth by applying the right skills and knowledge is very motivating. We are committed to continuous improvement, which leads to greater efficiency and, ultimately, more satisfied customers.   ❓What advice would you give to young professionals who want to enter the field of quality management? 💬My number one advice would be to find a job in a field you are passionate about. For me, working at AutoScout24 is a pleasure. It feels less like a job and more like a hobby that I get to work on every day. If you challenge yourself, you'll achieve your goals and continue to grow. I'd also suggest aligning your personal goals with those of the company and striving to exceed yourself. By constantly challenging yourself, you'll find that goals are achievable and long-term growth becomes possible. Vincent Kompany just got relegated to the Championship with Burnley but is now the Head Coach of Bayern, one of Europe's most elite clubs. They paid €10.2 million for his services. Fabian Hürzeler who is just 31 and hasn't even been a head coach for 2 years and was coaching in Germany's 2nd division, just replaced Roberto de Zerbi at Brighton in the EPL. Top-level clubs, now more than ever, are taking an unorthodox approach to ensuring that they have the right manager/head coach to help them reach their objectives. Here are a few more examples: - Enzo Maresca: Leicester(1st in the Championship) to Chelsea(EPL) - Francesco Farioli: Nice(5th in Ligue 1) to Ajax(Eredivise) - Borja Jimenez: Deportivo La Coruña(1st in Spain's 3rd Division) to C.D. Leganés(2nd division, now promoted to La Liga) Why are these clubs making these hiring decisions? Playing Style? Leadership Style? Player Development? Transfer Strategy? Communication skills? What is it? All these hiring decisions differed based on the candidates available to the club yet one common thing I found, is that each coach has clearly displayed Ambition and Resourcefulness/Out-of-the-Box Thinking. This is what makes them attractive prospects The modern coach is faced with more and more pressure daily due to constraints and unrealistic performance expectations. The industry has become more competitive than ever and each club faces a dark reality if they can't find short-term success on a sporting/financial level. Essentially what each club is looking for is a manager who can give them a competitive advantage. Bayern were an excellent possession-based team with an aggressive edge but then came Leverkusen and Xabi Alonso. They went trophyless for the first time since 2012. They tried doing what they've always done, buying out their competition, but Alonso refused. Now they need a solution. Brighton got into Europe for the first time in their history but even De Zerbi's genius couldn't help them push further. This season they finished 11th and if they don't find a solution, they'll slide back towards the relegation zone. Doing what you've always done eventually leads to unwanted results. This is why these clubs for these two traits in a manager: 1. Ambition of the Coach -Desire to build a career, knowledge that winning games is the only way to do so, hunger to do everything it takes, motivating players staff, creating a positive, can-do, winning mentality 2. Resourcefulness/Out-of-the Box Thinking -Knowledge of constraints and need to innovate, making use of what's available, willingness to experiment, courage to make decisions that could backfire It's been interesting to see managers reach the top level over the years by being brave enough to stand out. But what's even more interesting to see is how top-level club's are refusing to bend to tradition and do what they feel is necessary to keep on evolving in order to ensure short-term and long-term success.
