The research aimed to further reduce the gap between academia and industry. Both numerical simulations and two challenging real-world applications demonstrated strengths of efficient implementations of state-of-the-art algorithms for nonlinear Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Moving Horizon Estimation (MHE) running on modern multi-core computational hardware.

ACADO Toolkit is implemented as self-contained C++ code and comes along with user-friendly MATLAB interface. The object-oriented design allows for convenient coupling of existing optimization packages and for extending it with user-written optimization routines.
