India's 76-year journey of freedom has been marked by significant progress, yet ensuring safe food and water for all remains a crucial goal. Initiatives like the National Rural Drinking Water Programme, Jal Jeevan Mission, and reforms in the Public Distribution System have made strides in improving access, but continued efforts are essential to achieve this vision for every citizen. Last week, TÜV SÜD in Singapore had the honour of hosting cybersecurity experts from the members of the TIC Council for their Cybersecurity Hackathon. The session highlighted the pivotal role of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry in today’s fast-evolving digital landscape and the importance of creating an industry alignment to safeguard the connected products. The experts had the opportunity to exchange vital knowledge and share best practices on IoT cybersecurity compliance on ETSI EN 303 645. Creating thriving communities requires a commitment to safety and well-being beyond physical infrastructure. It's about fostering environments that support holistic health. India's progress, with initiatives like PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) and NDHM (National Digital Health Mission), is notable. The Union Budget 2024-25 further strengthens the healthcare landscape. TIC Council recommends that the Indian government continues to improve primary healthcare by focusing on quality and access, especially in rural areas, that includes: ➡️ Robust Infrastructure: Ensure safe housing, clean environments, and accessible healthcare.  ➡️ Safety and Trust: Provide certified medical devices and safe healthcare environments.  ➡️ Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage technology and cybersecurity for better support. For the past five days, cybersecurity experts from our members TÜV SÜD, TÜV Rheinland Group, UL Solutions, DEKRA, and Bureau Veritas Group have participated in our first cybersecurity hackathon. Thank you all for joining us in Singapore! Sharing cybersecurity best practices and allowing experts to exchange knowledge will have a significant impact on the security of millions of Internet of Things products consumers use daily. Additionally, providing valuable insights into standards that are used for IoT compliance across the world.
