The Manifesto of Diversity and Inclusion prepared by Politecnico Calzaturiero Scarl has been approved by all partners and translated in all 10 languages represented in the project. It recognises the need for an inclusive workforce that reflects the diverse nature of #Europe. Ursula von der Leyen presented on 18 July the political guidelines for her next term - 2024-2029. She stated that the European Union needs to be faster and #simpler, more focused and more united, more supportive of people and #companies. Now it is time to focus on industry, economy and #defence. 🌍 The textile and clothing industry is a significant sector across Europe, employing thousands of people and generating substantial revenue. 👔 In terms of employment, Italy is at the forefront with 24%, followed by Poland and Portugal at 10% each. Germany (9%), Romania (8%), and France (7%) also play crucial roles. 💰 However, the turnover figures paint a different picture: Italy again leads with 36%, but Germany comes in second with 15%, followed by France (9%) and Spain (7%). On 18 September in Hamburg, Dirk Vantyghem will be participating in the TextilWirtschaft #Sustainability Summit. He will explain how Brussels is moving from the regulation phase to the implementation one. EURATEX is glad to take part in the ITMF - International Textile Manufacturers Federation Annual Conference & IAF: International Apparel Federation World Fashion Convention 2024, September 8-10, 2024, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Our Director General, Dirk Vantyghem, will be present to discuss with peers the state of the industry and the future challenges at global level. He will also be on stage on 9 September to discuss #Sustainability & Regulation. Looking forward to meet the #textiles and #fashion #global community.
