🌟 Our managers met during the Management Days at Châteauform' Abbaye de la Ramée. We had the pleasure of attending presentations on a variety of topics including Safety, Finance, Human Resources, Airport Projects and Procurement. Claude Sibaud, Technical Director, presented the latest product innovations for the EMEA region 🌍. One of the highlights of the event was the teambuilding session, designed to promote team spirit and conviviality 🤝. We also welcomed akkanto, who ran workshops on the importance of managing Colas' reputation in Belgium. Construction Awards BXL 2023-2024 🏆 De 6e editie van de Construction Awards BXL 2023-2024 georganiseerd door Constructiv vond plaats op woensdag 26 juni 2024. Dit is een prijsuitreiking voor de meest verdienstelijke leerlingen van de Brusselse bouwscholen en voor de bouwbedrijven in Brussel. Colas Belgium won de Award Competentiebeleid – Opleiding. Eén van de prioriteiten van Colas Belgium is de continue opleiding van haar medewerkers. We willen onze mensen ondersteunen bij hun ontwikkeling en ieders potentieel optimaal benutten. Colas Belgium y a remporté l’Award Gestion des compétences-Formation. L'une des priorités de Colas Belgium est la formation continue de ses collaborateurs. Nous voulons soutenir notre personnel dans son développement et tirer le meilleur parti du potentiel de chacun. 🚧 Un chantier ambitieux Rue des Carrières à Arquennes      🛠️Il s’agit de poser 600 m d'égout en trois phases, avec construction d'un bâtiment, création d'un Ravel, et réalisation d’une nouvelle voirie de façade à façade, ainsi que l'installation d'un nouvel éclairage public et la mise à neuf des impétrants. 🏗️ Chantiers urbains Le chantier débute avec la pose de l'égout et la démolition de la voirie existante pour réaliser la sous-fondation. Ensuite, une tranchée commune est ouverte pour poser les nouveaux impétrants : eau, moyenne tension et éclairage public. S’ensuit la pose des éléments linéaires et des fondations, ainsi que des revêtements. 🛤️ Ces étapes seront répétées pour la deuxième phase. 👏⏱️ Les travaux de voirie devraient se finir en 200 jours calendrier au lieu des 360 prévus initialement. Il restera à finaliser le bâtiment destiné aux futurs amateurs de vélo pour accéder au Ravel. 🚴♂️ Bravo à l’équipe pour leur efficacité!   🚧 Een uitdagend project in de Rue des Carrières te Arquennes      🛠️ Het gaat om de aanleg van 600 m riolering in drie fasen, met de bouw van een gebouw, de aanleg van een Ravel en de aanleg van een nieuwe rijweg van gevel tot gevel, evenals de installatie van nieuwe straatverlichting en de herinrichting van de opstuwingen. 🏗️ Stadswerken De werken beginnen met de aanleg van de riolering en de afbraak van de bestaande rijweg om de onderbouw te creëren. Vervolgens wordt een gemeenschappelijke sleuf geopend om de nieuwe nutsvoorzieningen aan te leggen: water, middenspanning en straatverlichting. Dit wordt gevolgd door de installatie van de lineaire elementen en funderingen, evenals de wegverhardingen. 🛤️ Deze stappen worden herhaald voor de tweede fase. ⏱️ De wegenwerken zouden voltooid moeten zijn in 200 kalenderdagen in plaats van de 360 die oorspronkelijk gepland waren. Het enige wat nu nog moet gebeuren is de voltooiing van het gebouw dat toekomstige fietsliefhebbers toegang biedt tot de Ravel. 🚴♂️ Felicitaties aan het team voor hun efficiëntie!

We were delighted to welcome Francis GRASS, General Manager EMEA & Specialties and Oliver Kleebach, General Manager Western Europe for the launch of Safety Week 🎉. A visit of our worksites in the heart of Brussels, including the Schuman roundabout 🇧🇪, was organised 🛣️👷♂️👷♀️. We had the opportunity to talk together about this key issue, which concerns all COLAS employees, who work on it every day 🌟 . De leerlingen van het vijfde jaar aan de school KOGEKA hadden vandaag werfbezoeken. COLAS nam de studenten mee naar enkele werven waar de verschillende activiteiten in de wegenbouw aanbod kwamen. In Liessel werd de focus op rioleringswerken en betonnering gelegd, in Retie kwam dan de asfalteringswerken aan bod en als laatste bij Nike kwamen de bufferbekken ter sprake. Onze collega’s van deze uitvoeringen uit de agentschap Zolder stonden klaar om de studenten een interessante rondleiding te geven en zo hun vakkennis te delen. COLAS wil de studenten kennis laten maken met hoe de theorie in de praktijk wordt omgezet. We zijn enthousiast om hen te begeleiden en te inspireren terwijl ze de praktijk van dichtbij ervaren. Samen bouwen we aan een duurzame toekomst. 🤩💪🏻 Les élèves de cinquième année de l'école KOGEKA ont eu l'opportunité d'explorer le terrain aujourd'hui avec COLAS. Ils ont visité plusieurs chantiers pour découvrir les différentes facettes de la construction routière. À Liessel, l'accent était mis sur les travaux d'égouttage et de bétonnage, à Retie sur les travaux d'asphaltage, et enfin à Nike sur les bassins tampons. Nos collègues de l'agence de Zolder, responsables de ces projets, étaient présents pour offrir aux étudiants une visite enrichissante et partager leur expertise. Chez COLAS, nous souhaitons montrer aux étudiants comment la théorie se traduit en pratique. Nous sommes ravis de les guider et de les inspirer en leur offrant une immersion dans le monde réel de la construction. 🚧 Today marks the start of Safety Week 2024 at Colas! 🚧 The theme of the 11th edition is ‘Facing the unexpected: stop, think, act’ 🛑🤔✅. Why this theme ❓ When we analyse the causes of our serious accidents or accidents that could have been serious, we find that very often they occur after a last-minute change that was not taken into account in the execution of the tasks to be carried out. Throughout the week, 🕹️ An educational game in which each team has to choose between ‘continue’, ‘continue under conditions’ or ‘stop (end of day)’ when faced with unforeseen scenarios will be proposed to the teams during the safety meetings. These are privileged moments of exchange that should contribute to a lasting change in our behaviour to achieve our goal of ‘Zero Accidents’. 🚧 Un chantier d’envergure pour une amélioration durable ! 🚧 Nous avons lancé un projet ambitieux pour améliorer les infrastructures routières : 🚦 🔄 Création d'un giratoire en béton armé continu sur la N63. 🔄 Remplacement du pont sur la N66 à hauteur du croisement avec la N63 par un autre giratoire. 🛣️ Ce projet ambitieux vise à améliorer de manière significative la fluidité et la sécurité de la circulation sur les N63 et N66.
