If you’re looking for a PC that really stands out, Cooler Master is selling a prebuilt desktop that’s shaped like a shark.
The Shark X is designed to merge PC hardware with art and love for the “ocean’s ??mightiest and most efficient predators," according to Cooler Master. The result is what looks like a cybernetic fish rising out of the water.
The Shark X is based on a custom PC build called the “Leviathan” that won an award at Cooler Master’s 2019 Case Mod contest. At the time, the Thailand-based creator of Leviathan used a 3D printer to create a shark-like case to house the PC components and RGB lighting.
It looks like Cooler Master found a way to commercialize the design, leading to the Shark X. “Standing three feet tall (1 meter), the Shark X is crafted using advanced manufacturing techniques, seamlessly blending organic forms with technological precision,” the Taiwanese vendor said in the announcement.
In terms of specs, the Shark X essentially acts as mini-ITX case, which is used for compact PC builds. As a result, the prebuilt PC features more mid-tier specs, including an Intel Core i7-14700F, an Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Super graphics card, along with 64GB of DDR5 RAM and 2TB of NVMe storage. In addition, under the shark is a 120mm all-in-one cooler for the CPU.
Despite its unique casing, buyers can upgrade the PC. But on the downside, the Shark X costs $6,999. It's currently up for preorder with shipments beginning later this year.
It’s not the first time Cooler Master has tried to sell a unique-looking PC prebuild. Last year, it also began selling a shoe-shaped PC gaming desktop, which currently goes for $3,239.
