People ask me how travelling to India is, and my reply is, “The first visit is eye-opening; every visit following gets better and better.” My recent trip was the best yet, and as usual, it was packed with client and team meetings starting early and finishing late. The energy was incredible. Our discussions continued to cover Gen AI and data management, multi-cloud and edge solutions, and enhancing cyber defences (India is no stranger to cyber attacks or privacy legislation). It was fascinating to see how organisations across a range of industries were leveraging Gen AI, working through their use cases, and mapping out how their data feeds their LLMs. These discussions are crucial as we explore new opportunities and help our clients navigate their Gen AI journeys. I think we are now seeing Gen AI shadow projects get spun up, as different departments with different needs, at different stages of maturity, adopt different solutions at a pace that suits them. It reminded me of shadow IT in the earlier days of the public cloud. As always, innovation in India is alive and well. Harnessing that innovation to enable scale and efficiency is one of the reasons Dell Technologies introduced the Dell AI Factory, which manufactures intelligence with an open ecosystem supported by innovation (You can read more about that here: https://lnkd.in/g5d9Tm_g) On a more personal note, I was kindly welcomed into the Khona family's home in Mumbai.
