𝗛𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 Nearly a decade ago, I was introduced to the irrepressible 𝗞𝗶𝗺 𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗦𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗵, Author, Speaker and CEO of Ignite Global.  Kim is a very well recognized authority on the "Future of Work" and can be seen regularly on TV in Australia. Every now and then in our business lives, something will provide us a Eureka moment and Kim did just that when she introduced the concept of recruiting to 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 rather than solely relying on skills and experience.  Human beings learn skills all through their lives, but our innate 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 are hard-wired in us from age 13. Now you have a picture of what is required, build a Job Description that defines the role, its Purpose and how these 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 will be used to execute the role optimally. Finally, build Interview Questions that demand a candidate gives real examples of working to these 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 in their previous or current roles.  Personally, I like to have a team of four at each interview and then have each interviewer objectively score each candidate against their 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝘀 (and other criteria), this helps us to remove unconscious bias from the process. Using this system has provided me with the following observations: • You will hire candidates that you never thought you would have 👍 • 90%+ of candidates appreciate the process 👍 • Hiring accuracy in the upper 90% range 👍 • Candidates "fit" the roles because they are made for them 👍 Happy Hiring to Strengths!
